Why Safe Environmental Solutions?

In recent years, the incidence of a variety of illnesses has dramatically increased. A mere review of the local news reveals rises in Central New York of Salmonella, Hepatitis, Tuberculosis and Infant Mortality. If the national network news is examined, diseases such as E.coli food poisoning, Cholera and Ebola can be added to the list as well. An outbreak of any of these infectious diseases in a restaurant or larger institution (school, hospital, factory) can cost countless thousands of dollars due to customer loss, negative publicity, and litigation. When these diseases make their way into the home, the result can be deadly.

The highly professional staff of Safe Environmental Solutions possess a working knowledge of infectious microorganisms, techniques for their isolation and methods of preventing their spread. We can offer an experienced, professional, objective evaluation and educate the customer on ways to reduce risk of illness (particularly food-borne illness, air-borne illness and diseases transmitted in the home).

Upon arrival in the customer's residence or business, the surveyor performs a visual check of the premises, with particular attention paid to basements, bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchens. In addition, a detailed questionnaire is addressed, to determine what behaviors might place a customer at particular risk.

At this time, surveillance cultures of both air and selected surfaces are also performed, to find out what potentially dangerous bacteria and fungi might already be present on the premises.

If the customer would prefer, in lieu of an on-site visit, sampling materials could be shipped (along with detailed sampling instructions), so that “do it yourself” collection could be performed. The samples would then need to be returned to Safe Environmental Solutions, for evaluation in our laboratory.

The Safe Environmental Solutions evaluation concludes with a detailed written report as to the observed findings. Along with a description of these findings (including culture results), a list of recommendations is included, so that the customer might reduce their risk of disease.
